EARLY DATED 1446 COLOGNE KÖLN GROSCHEN FREY LEVINSON Early dated 1446 Cologne groschen or weisspfennig from the Riel mint.  Listed as Frey 73, Noss 381, Levinson I-79.  Legends are: MONE’-NOVA*-RILE’ on obverse showing conjoined shields, “A’DNI’:M-CCCC:LXVI” on reverse showing St. Peter.  1446 is a very tough date to collect, and the groschens of Cologne are the only collectable coin for this date, the only other known coin with this date is unique (Levinson I-80).
