A beautiful Thrace gold stater from the Tomis mint on the Black Sea Coast. The obverse has the deified (godlike) head of Alexander the Great, the reverse Athena holding Nike. This was at the time of Mithradates VI of Pontus and the coin is circa 88-86BC. It is 18.9mm in diameter and weighs 8.30 grams. It also has a cert of authenticity from the well known numismatic David Sear, and is graded gVF/nEF by him. Cert will be sent to winning bidder. Can accept paymant by paypal, £ cheque and A$ cheque or direct deposit. Coin will be sent registered post and insured, £5 to the UK, US and Europe and A$7 within Australia.
